This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) explains how Simple Liberty Foundation, a California nonprofit corporation (“we,” “us,” and/or “our”) collects, uses, and discloses information from individuals (“you” and/or “your”) who access and use our website at simpleliberty.com, our newsletters and our online community (collectively, the “Community”). Beyond the Privacy Policy, your use of the Community is also subject to our Terms of Service.
We reserve the right, at our discretion, to change, modify, add, or remove portions of this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the date at the top of the policy and, in some cases (for example if we plan to use your information in a way that materially differs from this Privacy Policy), we will provide you with additional notice (such as an email).
We encourage you to review the Privacy Policy whenever you access the Community or otherwise interact with us to stay informed about our information practices and the choices available to you.
Personal Information We Collect
Personal Information You Provide to Us.
Registration and Profile Information. When you subscribe or become a member (“Account”), we collect your name, email address, the newsletters you choose and your membership level.
Communications. We may also collect identifiers, such as your name, email address, and other information you choose to provide, when you participate in any interactive features of the Community (like send us a message through the Community), fill out a form, publish statements on our platform, communicate with us via third-party social media sites, request customer support, or otherwise communicate with us.
Content. We may collect other content and information you share through the Community when you submit information or content, such as by commenting on our posts or participating in Conversations, or when you otherwise interact with the Community.
Payment Information. When you make a donation - including membership contributions, which are donations - your payment information is collected and processed directly by Stripe through our website platform, Ghost. Card data is entered directly with Stripe and does not pass through or reside within our systems. We receive limited information about each gift, such as your name, email address, donation amount and date, and the status of any recurring donation. Stripe handles your payment information under its own privacy policy, available at stripe.com/privacy.
We do not sell, trade, or rent donor information to anyone. If we open an online store in the future, this policy will be updated to reflect it.
Newsletter Activity. When we send newsletters, we may record whether an email was opened and which links were clicked, so we can understand which research and ideas are most useful to readers.
